The event scheduled each Friday night in April, from 7pm to 11pm, offers the chance to visit the Vatican’s most important art collections in the night, with an itinerary including the Upper Galleries, Raphael Room and the Sistine Chapel. Online booking is required.

Also from March 1st the Vatican Museums make their immense heritage even more accessible by offering a new range of tours, all free of charge.

Among such tours is a multisensory tour, enabling the blind and visually impaired to explore a selection of works in the Vatican Pinacoteca and guided tours for the deaf in Italian Sign Language (LIS).

Among the best winter fares on flights from US to Italy, KLM offers one-way flights from San Francisco to Rome starting as low as $ 384 and from Los Angeles to Rome starting from $ 405, including fuel surcharge, fees and taxes. Tickets must be purchased by December 16, 2010.
