Flying to Italy is getting cheaper. Delta Air Lines and United Airlines are offering cheap flights to Italy for spring travel.

Delta is offering discount airfares on flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to major destinations in Italy.
Travel period: March 2 through April 2.
A minimum of one Saturday night stay is required.
Tickets must be purchased by March 2.

Below a sampling of Delta’s fares from New York JFK. These tickets are one-way, based on round-trip purchase and valid in the Economy (Coach) cabin.

»» Direct Flights from Montreal to Rome at $798 Round-trip

Beginning June 20, 2009, Air Canada will start direct flights between Montréal and Rome. This service complements the Toronto-Rome non-stop service that Air Canada is to resume in February 2009.

Also Air Canada will offer connecting flights via Rome operated by its partner Air One to popular destinations in Italy, including Milan, Palermo and Venice.

A special introductory round-trip fare starting at $798 is being offered to promote the new new Montréal-Rome direct service.
The offer is valid for travel starting between June 20 and July 4, 2009; you have to book by January 5, 2009.
The fares do not include taxes or surcharges.
