For those who are looking for opera festivals as visiting Italy in August, we have a couple of events to suggest. These festivals, held in the surroundings of sea resorts, attracts crowds of vacationers who love opera.

The city of Pesaro, on the Adriatic coast of Marches, hosts the Rossini Opera Festival, a summer festival in honour of composer Gioacchino Antonio Rossini — Pesaro is Rossini’s birthplace.

In the surroundings of Versilia (Northern coast of Tuscany), the town of Torre del Lago, where the composer Puccini lived and worked, hosts in its open-air theatre the Puccini Opera Festival from June 16 up to August 23.

A visit to the medieval town of Sant’Agata Feltria, — Montefeltro area, Marches, in December, offers a chance to see a huge Christmas market as well as to taste the typical local delicacies like truffles, cheese and sweets.

The town, located in a renowned truffle-searching area, hosts a Christmas market featuring a vast host of Christmas bits and pieces, ranging from nativity scenes in the Sicilian or Neapolitan styles to coloured balls, angels, Christmas headgear, scented and coloured candles. It is a unique opportunity for seekers of Christmas souvenirs.
