On April 21, Romans celebrate the birth of Rome — the “Natale di Roma“.
The Eternal City was founded in 753BC by Romulus.
The celebrations for the anniversary of its foundation include events such as parades, gladiator shows, firework display, and traditional Roman banquets, taking places at venues throughout Rome, including the Roman Forum and the Campidoglio.
The 2009 edition of “Natale di Roma” starts April 18, with celebrations culminating April 21.
