»» Rome Walking Tours: from Piazza di Spagna to Trevi Fountain

The itinerary starts from the most central and known square in Rome: Piazza di Spagna. By climbing its famous 138 Spanish Steps, you go from Piazza di Spagna to Piazza Trinità dei Monti.

Trevi Fountain

From Piazza Trinità dei Monti you can go to Villa Borghese (take left for Terrazza del Pincio) or to Via del Tritone and Trevi Fountain (take right).

Well known for its gardens, Villa Borghese also houses an art gallery with an important collection of paintings, sculpture and antiquities.

The Trevi Fountain (in Italian: Fontana di Trevi) is the largest and most known of the fountains of Rome. A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome.
It is estimated that about as many as 3,000 Euros are thrown into the fountain each day.
