»» A Race in the Ancient Rome

The annual City of Rome Marathon is taking place on Staurday, March 16 2008.
The racetrack is a real tourist itinerary, with the race passing through historic piazzas and places such as Piazza Venezia with the Campidoglio, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna with Trinità dei Monti, Saint Peter’s, the Synagogue, and the Mosque, Pantheon, the Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Colosseum, the Arch of Costantine, the Forum of Rome and the Imperial Forums.

The City of Rome Marathon is not only a race for athletes, as it will be combined with the Stracittadina Fun Run, the non-competitive 4km race. More than a race, it is a leisurely walk to which anyone can participate, including grandparents, parents and children, together with their favourite domestic animal, on skates…
It will kick off at Colosseo (9:15 am), immediately following the start of the 42km Marathon. Cost of registration € 6,00 included official T-shirt. View details of registration at http://www.maratonadiroma.it/eng/villaggio_en.asp .
