Orvieto offers so many attractions, also for those who spend just a day or a day and overnigh there.
Sightseeing: guided tours of the caves and Duomo. It is also possible to do day trips out from Orvieto, for example to the historic hilltop town of Todi and to the nearby lake of Corbara (on the road to Todi). The views over countryside surrounding Orvieto are breathtaking.
Shopping: ceramics and pottery; the little pots are great presents.
Dining: restaurants are great and less expensive than Rome, so they offer also an occasion to taste the excellent local wines (Orvieto Classico). Give a try to ‘Champagneria’, a caffè that in a chic ambience offers delicious cappucino and handmade pastries, and a broad selection of Champagne, wine, and appetizers.
