An unique regatta is held in Venice late June.
It’s the annual “San Pellegrino Cooking Cup”.
Around 60 crews, equipped with celebrity chefs, during the ten-mile race, compete in saling as well as in a cooking challenge.
The 2007 edition is taking place on June 29 and 30.
The jury is made up of internationally renowned gourmets, yachtsmen, wine experts and chefs.

Siena is to hosts the Palio of July 2. Its the first of the two annual Palio held in the Tuscan city.
The Palio of Siena takes place two times a year, July 2 (Palio di Provenzano) and August 16 (Palio dell’Assunta).

The 50th edition of the “Festival of Two Worlds” — the ‘Spoleto Festival’ is, to start on June 29.
The town of Spoleto, in Umbria, is set to host this international event which brings together major stars of theatre, opera, dance, visual arts, and cinema.

On Sunday , June 24, the city of Pisa divides into two camps to host the “Gioco del Ponte” (aka “Battaglia del Ponte” — “The Bridge’s Battle”).
The battle, a colourful and violent ritual dating back to the Middle Ages, takes place on the town’s main bridge — Ponte di Mezzo, during which the two opposing teams give proof of their own physical strength in a strongly competitive atmosphere.
Also a huge historical procession takes place along the Arno.
