»» Easter Celebrations in Palermo
The Good Friday processions in Palermo, are among the major Easter celebrations taking place this week in Italy. They are three splendid processions dating back several centuries.

The procession of the Cocchieri used to be seen by the local aristocrats as an opportunity to show off their power and wealth. It starts around 2pm.
The other processions dedicated to Maria Addolorata and Santa Maria Soledad are similar and finish late at night.
Easter Sunday celebrations feature the re-enactment of the Last Supper at major churches throughout the city. For time and details of the celebrations visit Palermo Tourism website.
