Among the attractions the Alpine resort of Livigno offers its visitors, there is also a four-days Polo on snow competition.

The seventh edition of the annual Polo Cup on Snow will kick off on February 1st. Four teams of national and international players compete for the trophy.

»»A 1000-year Old Fair in Valle d’Aosta

The city of Aosta hosts on January 30 and 31, a 1000-year old event which is an attraction also for holidaymakers crowding in this time the major winter holidays’ destinations in Valle d’Aosta (Aosta Valley).
The Fair of Saint Orso attracts thousands of artists and craftsmen exhibiting their work.

All of the traditional craft activities can be seen here: wood sculpture and carving, creation of objects in local ‘ollare’ stone, wrought iron, ‘drap’ cloth, wool weaving on ancient wooden looms, as well as wooden ladders, barrels etc…Not only finest examples of Aosta Valley craft work, also Alpine music, folk dances and tasting sessions of wine and food.

It is a true people’s festival culminating, on the night between January 30th and 31st, in the “Veillà“, a night, of musical entertainment in the illuminated streets, which brings crowds of people here until dawn. Find out more details

Porta Portese flea market.
This is in Rome a most important market. You’ll find everything or anything, if you look hard enough… remember…only on Sunday here you can find it all!!

Lush (via dei Balluari)
This is a famous shop where you’ll find everithing you need to pamper your skin, from bath gels that smell of chocolate, cakes or vanilla or handmade soaps like something good to eat! You can try and find all you want when dunked in the bath!

»»Valentine’s Celebrations Kick Off in Umbria

As around the world people is preparing to celebrate St.Valentine in the usual consumerist way, the city of Terni, Umbria, still remembers the spiritual origins of the feast.

May be few know the well-preserved body of the Saint of Love lies in the Basilica of San Valentino, the cathedral of Terni.

Alongside the religious celebrations, Terni also plans a series of special events centered on the theme of love. Tours, contemporary art exhibitions, concerts, poetry readings, and dance are being scheduled from late January (27th) through February.
