»»WWF Natural Oasis Open Day

By holding the event “Giornata delle Oasi”, tomorrow on April 30, Italian WWF celebrates its 40th birthday.
For the event - the annual nationwide WWF natural oasis open day, all of 140 natural oasis and reserves across the country, will be open to public; special initatiatives and guided visits are being scheduled.

“Cagliari Monumenti Aperti”, event taking place in Cagliari, Sardinia, on April 29 and 30, will give to visitors many chances to discover the several art historical itineraries of this city.

More than 2,000 volunteers will offer their help to visit sites of historical and archaeological interest, also including areas of naturalistic interest.

Sardinia is mostly known for its sea and beaches, so this is an occasion to better know its capital, a city which has a lot to offer to tourists.

- Cathedral: built in the early 13th cent;
- San Saturnino Church: most ancient monument of christianity, started in 5th cent.;
- Archaeological museum: houses evidences of ancient civilizations dating back 2000 b.c. as well as of Roman times and of Christian post-roman age;
- Anfiteatro Romano (Roman amphiteatre): dating back 2th cent.;
- Casa del Tigellio: three Roman homes dating back to the imperial age;
- Piazza della Costituzione: in the square there is Umbero I terrace (Bastione S.Remy);
- Piazza Indipendenza: in the square there is S.Pancrazio tower (built in 1305) and the archaeological museum;
- Torre dell’Elefante (Elephant Tower): built in 1307.

»»British Airways: New Fare System for Italian Routes

British Airways announced a new fare system for Italian routes.
BA will offer all passengers the possibility to book individual legs starting, from all over Italy, from €49 (taxes and additional charges excluded).
Furthermore, British Airways today eliminated all restrictions on tickets by guaranteeing passengers the possibility to change their booking, whatever it may be and to disregard the purchased fare, up until the day prior to departure.

- Meridiana will replace EasyJet flights on Milan - Olbia route until May 1st

National Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) suspended EasyJet flights on the Milan - Olbia route, on April 21.
In order to meet the needs of consumers who have purchased airline tickets with the EasyJet airline, Meridiana has started to operate additional flights on the Malpensa-Olbia-Malpensa leg, as requested by ENAC and will go on with the schedule until May 1.

On April 20, ENAC had released a statement in which they said that to ensure territorial continuity, links with Sardinia from Milan and Rome are subject to public-service obligations and can be entrusted only to carriers that guarantee operations over the entire course of the year.

Good news for those who love the Italian beaches.
The Italian Union of Bathing Establishments (SIB) announced that prices are unchanged from last season.

That is true for more than 10,000 bathing establishments adhering to SIB.

Not everything is going to remain unchanged. SIB also anticipates many bathing establishments have drammatically increased the number and the quality of their services.
Increasingly number of bar, café, restaurants, ample parking, games room and ample spaces for children are ready to welcome tourists.

For those who like another type of beaches and holidays, Italian coasts continues to offer never ending options.

Naples Capodichino airport from April 14 is linked with Budapest and Prague.
SkyEurope, Central and Oriental European airline, started new air connections from Naples to Prague to Budapest.

- Rome-Prague

The Central Europe’s largest low cost airline, had started a new flight Rome - Prague on April 10.
This new daily service connecting Rome to the Czech capital is operated with the new next-generation Boeing 737-700.

- New air traffic route Europe - China

IATA, the International Air Transport Association, has announced a new international air traffic route that allows an around 30-minute reduction in connection times between China and Europe.
The new route is open to commercial traffic since April 13, 2006, and will initially predict at least 110 flights a week.
