»»Art Meets Food in Milan

“Arte da mangiare mangiare Arte”, is a original art-gastronomical event taking place in Milan, displaying the possible artistic representations of food.

The event includes gastronomical themed exhibits, theatre, music, and debates and of course tasting sessions.
The goal of “Arte da mangiare mangiare Arte” is looking for innovative ways to draw the attention of people on gastronomic culture, through the artists’ creativity.

Among the initiatives scheduled for next week-end, we suggest “Performance in Decline” - at Società Umanitaria, Via S. Barnaba, 38, on Friday March 31 at 6 PM, where artists exhibit eatable art works, made of food, and four different tasting sessions, on Saturday and Sunday, at 4 and 5 PM.

»»Tribute to American Art in Rome

The exhibit ‘’Omaggio all’arte americana'’ was open Saturday March 26, in Roma.

‘’Omaggio all’arte americana'’ , which will be hosted, in Palazzo Valentini, through June 20, is a tribute not only to American art, but also to 60’s Pop art as a whole.

‘The visitors will be able to admire works such as “Widow” and “Dante and Beatrice” by Rauschenberg - along many of his photographies of 40’s and early 50’s, or “Details of a Reinassance painting” by Andy Wharol and many other from artists of Pop art such as Jasper Johns, Mark Tobey etc

»»Modern and Contemporary Art Exhibit in Milan

MiArt, International exhibition of modern and contemporary art in Milan, will open to the public on Thursday March 30, 2006.

The exhibition will be divided into three sections. The Moderno section will host galleries presenting artists and works of periods ranging from early XX century to 60’s; among the exhibitors Thessa Herold gallery from Paris and Manuel Barbie’ gallery from Barcelona.

Milan-Duomo

The Contemporaneo section will host 106 galleries exhibiting latest decades’ works.
The special section Art Co is reserved to exhibitors displaying unique art pieces by acclaimed artists.

MiArt is taking place in the city center, at Fieramilanocity - Padiglione 15, saloni 1 e 2, and runs through April 2, 2006.

»»Historical Artistic Week-end Across Italy

410 special historical and artistic sites in 190 cities across Italy, will be open to public, on March 25 and 26.

The event, Giornata FAI di Primavera, will make available to public viewing, sites usually not accessible, such as gardens, churches, buildings, ancient villas and industrial archeology sites.

The 25th edition of this event, offer visitors also several themed cultural itineraries, ranging from a tour of Ligurian villas and gardens, to a walk in the baroque center of Ragusa, Sicily.

Among the sites open just for this special recurrence, Palazzo Giustiniani in Rome, Palazzo Clerici and Palazzo Dugnani in Milan, Bardini museum in Florence, and the castle Castello Mediceo in Melegnano, Milan.

The access to the sites is free, but visitors will be given a chance to donate 1 Euro for funding the preservation of this historical and architectural patrimony.
