The “Eros Cooking Course in Sicily” is a 5 days holiday spent among cooklng courses in a Sicilian villa in Siracusa and visits to the Necropolis in the surroundings.

The villa where the courses are held is located in a favourable position that allows to easily reach the Necropolis of Pantalica and the Greek ruins of Leontinoi, so a few visits there are planned.

Day 1: NAPLES
Arrival in Naples, sightseeing tour: Castel dell’Ovo, Castel Nuovo, Galleria Umberto, San Carlo theatre and the Cathedral. Welcome dinner.

Day 2: POMPEI AND MOUNT VESUVIUS
Visit of the luxurious villas and temples, theatre and forum of Pompei, destroyed in AD 79 by the Vesuvius eruption. Excursion to the volcano. Dinner in a typical restaurant.

Day 3: POSITANO, RAVELLO AND AMALFI

Courses Overview:
Cooking courses to discover the secrets of typical Tuscan dishes, led by the chef. Fresh pasta, typical soups like acquacotta, meat and desserts prepared by the participants themselves.

Program
The first lesson concerns first courses: soups, the art of making “pasta”, sauces and presentation. The lesson takes about 3 hours.
On the second day the secrets of main courses will be revealed: meat flavoured with rosemary, the art of preparing and serving more sophisticated dishes like fish, roasted or casseroled chicken, pork, lamb and rabbit, with a look at presentation. The lesson takes about 3 hours.
The third lesson focuses on sweets. Using our modern kitchen facilities, typical sweet dishes like “Tozzetti” (biscuits with nuts), jam tarts will be prepared. During the lessons are recommend balsamic vinegar, raspberry and bilberry flavoured vinegar, olive oil, mushrooms and truffles.

1st day:Palermo or surroundings Arrival at Palermo and accommodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight

2nd day : Segesta - Erice - Trapani - Marsala Breakfast in hotel. Departure for Segesta and visit of the Doric Temple V th century B.C.. Continuation for Erice, beautiful medieval town ta 750 mt over sea level;sightseeing tour of Trapani and lunch in a restaurant. Departure for Marsala and visit of a typical cellar of the homonymus wine with typical product tasting.Departure fot Agrigento or surroundings Accommodation in hotel. After dinner night-walk at the Valley of Temples.

3rd day : Agrigento - Armerina Square Breakfast in hotel. Guided city tour of Agrigento and of the Valley of Temples. Lunch in hotel or in restaurant.In the afternoon, departure for Armerina Square and visit of the roman villa called “Del Casale”, famous for its mosaiques. Continuation for Catania, Naxos Gardens or surroundings. Accommodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight.

4th day : Etna - Taormina Half board in hotel.Excursion by bus on the Vulcan Etna until 1.800 mt. and optional excursion in teleferry or jeep with authorised guide for the visit of the main craters. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit of Taormina and of the Greek Theater. Afternoon at leisure for shopping. Accomodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight.
5th day : Catania or surroundings Breakfast in hotel and end of the tour.
